Students debating Future of Europe

Active participation in the Public Debate of the Future of Europe is
of high value for European students. Four largest European student
networks AEGEE, ESIB, ESN and JADE launched a project “Universities
to Debate Europe” which aims to generate a substantial contribution
to the European Convention in form of a position paper coming from
the university world.
The Students' Convention - final conference of "Universities to
debate Europe" - will bring a closure to the whole project.

The conference will take place on the 20th December and will be
hosted by European Parliament and Polish Mission to the EU.

“100 participants, accompanied by honorable guests, will discuss the
results of the Debate Marathon, that has been taking place all over
Europe since the beginning of October. During panel discussions they
will also have a chance to share their visions and opinions about the
role of academic world in the Future of Europe Debate” said Diana
Filip, project manager of the “Universities to Debate Europe.”

The Conference enjoys the patronage of Mr. Pat Cox, the President of
the European Parliament and College of Europe.

“ We are happy that students are recognized as partners in the Future
of Europe Debate. That makes us believe we can participate in the
decision making processes, which are of a high concern for all of
us.” said Mark de Beer, President of AEGEE Europe.

AEGEE is one of the biggest students’ associations in Europe. It aims
at promoting European integration and intercultural understanding.
With its network of 17.000 students AEGEE has the means to make a
serious effort to influence key parties for the implementation of
their projects.

AEGEE is supported by EurActiv.com, the European information portal.
