this year AEGEE Ljubljana welcomes you to Kranjska Gora, one of the most famous Slovenian ski resorts, where our event "Traditional Slovenian Drinks & Habits" will take place during the 14th - 16th of December. Due to our lodging conditions we had to limited number of participants this year - sorry, but only 50 happy people will have fun here ;-) 


But before you shut down your computer and run to the nearest bus stop, please read this:

  b.. Price for attending the event is 30 EURO, payable in Slovenian tolars, 
  c.. For this price you will sleep for two nights, have two dinners and breakfasts and visit some of the wonders of the town, as well as quite a few glasses of alcohol, OOps, I mean traditional Slovenian drinks, 
  d.. Please dress warmly. If there is enough snow, we will make snowmen, so bring lots of ideas, 
  e.. If you do not want to pay extra 4 EURO for bed sheets, bring your own, 
  f.. Bring your slippers :-)

      Event Description  


Traditional Slovenian Drinks and Habits has itself become a traditional event, having been organized by AEGEE Ljubljana for the past two years in concession. It is an informal event where people, usually from neighbouring antennas, come to a specific part of Slovenia for a weekend, to enjoy the various Slovenian habits and customs.

This year the event will take place in the world famous Kranjska Gora ski-resort and will focus on the habits of the Gorenjska region. The event is scheduled for the third weekend of December (14 to 16 December) and will include around 50 participants, who will, hopefully, be able to enjoy sunny weather with lots of snow. During the event, they will get to know the traditional Slovenian drinks and habits, presented by the country women of Kranjska Gora, as well as the resort itself and the nearby renowned Planica ski jump. In the beautiful setting of the upper Sava Valley we are sure that they will feel comfortable, especially because breakfast, supper and lodging are included in the price. The participants as well as the organisers will be lodged at an appropriate facility with a large dining area, close to the town centre.

As public transport runs frequently between the neighbouring city of Jesenice, which itself has excellent train connections with Ljubljana, and Kranjska Gora, getting to and from Kranjska Gora is very easy.

Due to the limited sleeping capacities, please hurry up with applications.

IMPORTANT: Do not forget to bring your typical drinks for European night :). We will surely provide lots of tasting of our typical drinks!

ALSO IMPORTANTt: Since this is Slovenia, we also have some habits that are not connected to drinking, and therefore you must bring your slippers. And, if you do not want to pay 860 SIT (8 DEM, 4 EURO) extra for sheets, you have to bring your own bed sheets or a sleeping bag. The beds themselves however are included in the price :)

SATURDAY 15.12.2001

  b.. Sightseeing for the rest of the day, including traditional drinks to keep us warm:

    c.. PLANICA (where you will get a warm surprise drink) 
  Here, changes to the programme, due to weather conditions are allowed, since it is not clear yet, whether there will be snow at the time. In case of snow however, the programme will only get better ;o)

  d.. European night, (as you know, a classic among any proper AEGEE event, where you present your country with it's traditional drink(s) ;o) to other participants,
