Hi,
as I now that your region is always very interested in education topics I
am sending you info about this Education Training School. Maybe I will see
some of you there :)

Greetings from the cloudy side of the alps
Ciao Sebastian
Education Working Group

Here we go...

You always wanted to find out about all the opportunities the SOCRATES
programme can offer?

Do you wonder why studying abroad is not yet common for all students?

Do you want to acquire the skills employers are looking for?

Are you as a student interested in Education and want to find out what you
can do to get active?

The Education Working Group of AEGEE-Europe invites you to experience the
first Education Working Group Training School!

It will take place in Passau from 11th ? 14th October 2001 and only 25
very motivated and active students from all over Europe will be allowed to
take part. So be quick!

Mobility of students and teachers is one of the key factors in order to
achieve a European identity. In the field of higher education, especially
the introduction and expansion of the European mobility programmes
(Socrates) has improved the situation a lot during the last 15 years.

Nevertheless, obstacles still remain which limit mobility between
universities. Regarding students, the most common problems are the lack of
information, linguistic problems, financial problems despite state aid,
difficulties in obtaining residence permits, non-compatible curricula or
other reasons which form obstacles concerning the recognition of credits
gained while studying abroad. In the Training School, we will discuss
innovative solutions and concepts such as the Bologna Process, which aims
at realising a European area of higher education until 2010.

Together, we will look at the SOCRATES Programmes and the Bologna Process,
which aims at realising a European Area of Higher Education until 2010.
Furthermore, you will learn about the Education Working Group, its history
and future, and how to get active in it. You will have the chance to
improve your communication and presentation skills, to get informed about
project management and funding possibilities at the European level and
much more. And of course, you will meet many wonderful people and will
have lots of fun as well! : ) We are waiting for your application! : )

Participation Fee
20 Euro (Reduction for Central and East Europeans possible)

Find more information and apply under http://www.aegee.org/wg/ewg
(please add a motivation letter of around 300 words to your application)

Greetings from sunny Heidelberg
Ciao Sebastian
