INTRODUCTION

The core of the Socrates on the Move Project (see previous e-mail) will
be made up of the activities of 50 Socrates Promoters, students coming
from 30 participating countries who will act as multipliers, passing on
relevant information regarding the Socrates II programme to fellow
students .

The 50 Socrates Promoters will attend a Training (for Trainers) in
Brussels from 13-16 March 2000. During a one week course they will receive
knowledge and skills training that will enable them to organise and
participate in a number of promotional events related to the Socrates II
programme and mobility issues in their respective countries.

Experts from the European Commission and other institutions/organisations
active in the field of Mobility in Education will provide the Socrates
Promoters with all relevant information regarding the Socrates II
programme, recognition of studies abroad (ECTS and diploma supplement),
and other Community programmes relevant to students, such as Tempus and
Leonardo. Skills training will mainly concern communication, presentation
and moderation skills, organisation skills, time management etc.
