I'm glad that you are interessted to talk once more on SU proposals, on
this way you may take look on the following part of the Statute of AEGEE
Europe and starting to say what you'd like to change, add, or remove.

SUMMER UNIVERSITIES
Agora Udine, November 2000

Article 1: Summer University Co-ordination Team
(1) 1The Summer University project should be co-ordinated by the Summer
University Co-ordination Team. 2The Summer University Co-ordination Team is
responsible for the good functioning of the project. 3In order to do this,
it has the power to check the word of the locals involved in the project
and can exclude locals from the project if they do not fulfil the criteria
stated in the General Rules for Summer Universities (Arts. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
and 7).
(2) 1The Summer University Co-ordination Team consists of:
· 4 members elected by the Autumn Agora and in charge till the Autumn Agora
of the following year.
· 1 member appointed by the Comité Directeur out of its members.
2The candidates must accept the budget for the Summer University
Co-ordination presented by the Comité Directeur before the Agora.
(3) 1The Summer University Co-ordination Team presents to the Autumn Agora
a moral report of its last years activities, a description of the project
situation and projections for the future as well as statistical data for
use of the SU project and the operation of AEGEE in general. 2This moral
report should, in its definitive version, be made publicly available to all
members at least one week before the start of the Agora at which it is
presented.
(4) 1The tasks of the Summer University Co-ordination Team are the following:
· Co-ordinator;
· Treasurer;
· Brochure responsible;
· Selection responsible;
· Public Relations;
· Education responsible;
· Relation with the Antennae.
2Each member of the Summer University Co-ordination Team can have one or
more tasks, no task can be divided among more members. 3In case one or more
places remain vacant, then an election for the vacant places should be held
at the next Agora.
Article 2: General Rules
(1) 1Each Antenna can organise Summer Universities  during the whole year.
2The Summer University Co-ordination Team should publish one or two
brochures a year: One in March for courses from June to November (Summer
University), and another, if necessary, in September for courses from
December to May (Spring University).
(2) 1The presentation of the course should arrive on time at the Summer
University Co-ordination Team in order to be published in the brochure.
2Each AEGEE local should have a Summer University responsible who collects
all applications from its members.
(3) 1Each Summer University organising local should decide how to be paid.
2The Summer University organising local should send to the Summer
University Co-ordination Team a financial report after the course.
(4) 1The total amount of registration fees has to be used for the
organisation of the Summer University. 2Organisers have to use for the
organisation of the Summer University at least 75% of the subventions and
sponsoring received for the Summer University.
(5) 1An introductive lesson on AEGEE's basics, history, structure, aims,
opportunities, etc. should be held during each Summer University. 2The
Summer University Co-ordination Team is responsible for providing standard
material for this introduction at least in English; it may ask for the
support of other AEGEE bodies for its creation.
Article 3: Motivation Letters and Evaluations
(1) The motivation letters of the Summer University applicants in general
have to be made available in electronic form together with the
pre-selection list.
(2) 1The complete evaluations are to be made accessible to all AEGEE
members starting from a date that is to be fixed soon after the completion
of all Summer Universities of the respecting year. 2The evaluations are
immediately accessible to the organisers of the respective Summer
University. 3The number of submitted evaluations for a specific Summer
University shall be publicly and immediately visible. 4Evaluations can be
anonymous.
Article 4: Summer University
(1) 1A Summer University is a course of language or other subjects
organised by one or more AEGEE Antennae and Contact Antennae. 2AEGEE
contacts or other groups of students or associations can organise Summer
Universities only in collaboration with an official AEGEE body (locals,
Comité Directeur, Working Groups, Summer University Co-ordination Team)
that will be responsible for the course towards the association.
(2) This course is considered a Summer University only if:
· its duration is between 2 and 4 weeks;
· there are at least 20 hours tuition a week.
(3) The participation fee is of a maximum of 50 EURO a week including at
least lodging and tuition; the minimum of participants is 12.
Article 5: Summer University Plus
(1) A Summer University Plus is a high level course of language or other
subjects organised by one or more AEGEE Antennae which have already
organised at least one Summer University.
(2) This course is considered a Summer University Plus only if:
· it is officially recognised and supported by the university in which it
takes place;
· the duration is of four weeks for language courses and of 2, 3 or 4 weeks
for courses of other subjects;
· there are at least 24 hours tuition a week;
· the participation fee is of a maximum of 75 EURO a week including at
least lodging, one meal a day and tuition;
· the minimum of participants is 20;
· lessons are taught by professional teachers.
Article 6: Travelling Summer University
(1) A travelling Summer University is a cultural travel through Europe
organised by at least an AEGEE Antenna and two other AEGEE locals in three
different places.
(2) This course is considered a travelling Summer University only if:
· its duration is between 2 and 4 weeks;
· lodging is provided for all participants in at least four different places;
· conferences, workshops and/or discussions about cultural, artistic,
political or natural aspects of the crossed regions are organised;
· the participation fee is of a maximum of 75 EURO a week including at
least travel from the first to the last place mentioned in the programme,
lodging and entrances to museums, historical or archaeological sites and
spectacles;
· the minimum of participants is 12.
Article 7: Summer Camp
(1) 1A Summer Camp is an active programme of social and/or environmental
interest with an active involvement of the participants, organised by one
or more AEGEE locals. 2Other groups of students or associations can
organise a Summer Camp in collaboration with official AEGEE bodies.
(2) Such programme can be considered a Summer Camp only if:
· its duration is between 2 and 4 weeks;
· a theoretical introduction of at least four hours up to a maximum of
twelve hours must be provided to the participants;
· there are between 20 and 25 hours of practical activities a week;
· the participation fee is of a maximum of 40 EURO a week and must include
at least lodging, two meals a day and breakfast, insurance, transportation,
working tools and all activities;
· the minimum of participants is 12.
