Introduction to debate :Power Point presentation + lecture by Davide

- introducing netcom team
- division of aegee in regions
- network statistics :number of locals, members etc . over the past
years.
- new antennas,future antennas
- comparison with other regions
- rainbow candidates for european 'posts'

questions and feedback from participants.

debate :the past, present and future of the Rainbow region...
important points discussed :

- awareness of each local inserted in a wider context, first and
foremost regional then european.how does each local consider itself?
how do outside antennas consider the rainbow region, what
characterizes the region, what do rainbow locals have in common apart
from the geographical closeness?

-even though largest number of locals in italy, the highest number of
members per local regard the locals outside Italy. does for example
valletta feel part of the region?do any antennas feel isolated?

- the importance of 'new' people during regional meeting, contact
macerata, 5 people present at meeting, future birth of aegee macerata.
also Aegee Pisa strenghtens also thanks to Aegee Firenze's support,
hence, the importance of feeling part of the region and being helped
and supported by netcom team but also by nearby antennas.

-regional accomplishments :
development of Internal education within the region, many IE events.
support given by expert locals...moving towards a even more united
region,
many locals in practice do use the region as a bridge between the
local and Aegee Europe and they find it very useful.

- linguistic problem : sometimes Italian antennas tend to isolate
themselves due to an 'english language' problem that sometimes acts as
a drawback to them.

- it is also important to subdivide the region once again having
subcommissioners who are close and can give a more practical support.

- necessity of IE events even within locals to explain to the members
that AEGEE is much more complex then what they see only on local level.

2nd session : the future

- the wish to create AEGEE in Alessandria/vercelli/novara

- more contacts and collaboration with French antennas. Lyon : idea of
an internal education event in Lyon inviting people from south of
france, but also northern italy, torino and surroundings.

- discussion on internal education within region

- new ideas on different kinds of events

- promoting AEGEE as a school of life for recruitment of members -
learning personal skills through AEGEE.how to propose
AEGEE...sometimes risk of being considered as a travel agency...IE
within local needed to avoid this.

- difficulties with some antennas to find new members especially
active members....how to solve this problem..

-power point presentation by Nicola Rega regarding his projects of his
sub-region (north italy)

****Sunday 17th
