Dear friends,

We would like to remind you of the deadline for
applications to become a Socrates Promoter, and take
active part in the Socrates on the Move project.
Although the deadline is on February 10th, we have not
received many applications yet.

We realise that there is not much time for
consideration on your part, and moreover that the
dates of the Training in Brussels are very
unfavourable (being so close to the PM in Skopje).

Still, we hope that some of you will realise what a
great opportunity is being offered to you!

If you take part in the Training in Brussels (March
14-18) you will be turned into a student expert on
Socrates in one week. Afterwards, your expertise will
be beneficial to you, to your local and to AEGEE as a
whole.

The opportunity to visit neighbouring locals to give
trainings/workshops (to pass on your knowledge) will
not only add to your personal experience, but can also
be seen as a possibility to strenghten ties between
AEGEE-locals and to establish a co-operation with
other organisations (local student unions and ESN
branches).

To clarify the task of the Socrates Promoter as it was
described in our previous e-mail:

If you become a Socrates Promoter, you will be
expected to do the following: contact your own local
and a minimum of 4 other AEGEE-locals and ask them to
organise an Socrates information/discussion meeting
for their members, members of ESIB (the local student
union) and ESN, and other interested people. You are
not expected to organise those meetings yourself, only
to 'initiate' them. You are expected to attend them as
a trainer, to prepare a presentation/workshop and to
pass on your knowledge to the people present.

This category of meetings (events) could be labelled
'promotion activities'. The other category would be
'representation activities'. You could for example be
invited to a meeting with your national Socrates
agency. Your expenses to attend all the meetings
(travel and subsistence) will be reimbursed.
Otherwise, the work has to be done on a voluntary
basis.

If you intend to go to the PM your travel from Ohrid
to Brussels and from Brussels to home will be
reimbursed.

We ask you again to pass on the information about the
Socrates on the Move project to your members and/or
friends.

Hope to hear from you,

Sebastian & Linda
