Dear Manos, dear Rainbowers,

I think that there is something that is not clear in the distinction between
regions and teams. A region remains as it is, formed by the same locals all
the times, while teams are formed and dissolved all the times and so once
you are together with some other locals, 6 months later you're no more.
Basically, italian locals (centre and south Italy) have always and will
probably always be together, for geographical reasons, but in the North for
example we are experiencing frequent changes of teams. We, Venezia, last
semester were with Ljubljana but not with Padova, now we are with Padova but
not with Ljubljana but together with Budapest... see?

So I think that Rainbow-L could remain but, as Manos said, can't have any
official role.
About the mailing list of the team, there is no other solution than giving
it the name of the NetCommie, simply because in 6 months NOT ONLY THE NAME
of the NetCommie will change, BUT ALSO THE ANTENNAE forming this team will
not be the same.

So, as I'm not in Manos's team but in Agnes's one, I won't be present in
Manos-L and I'll probably unsubscribe from Rainbow-L.
But, as I am subcommie for Venezia, Padova, Verona, Treviso, Udine, Trieste,
whenever you need to contact this part of the Network don't hesitate to
contact me :)
Plus I remain at a full disposal for cooperation with other Italian locals
for helping each other out in issues like fund raising, human resources,
university support, etc.

I think that Manos has perfectly realized which are the problems of italian
locals, so I wish him all the best for his term.
Sorry for referring so often to "Italian locals"... I am sure that Manos
will be able to understand also all the problems of non-Italian locals
assigned to him :)

Good luck Manos for everything! And good luck to all subcommissioner which I
had the pleasure to work with in Katja's team!
Bye bye!

part of the network was not discarded, but indeed it took me some time
working in the background in order to settle things among Netcommies and
Subcommies,

(netcom trip report will follow).About this list, since a lot of you think
that this list has to remain as it is, and since this is your list
(netcommies are not forever - locals are),
> i think that you can all forget my previous e-mail.RAINBOW-L will remain
as it is, but it will have no official role for the Netcom (as it includes
locals divided to 5 netcommies)So, who am I ?I'm Manos Valasis. I come
from AEGEE-Peiraias (Vice-President, IT, Exchanges)
> I'm 23, working as a computer programmer, and decided to postpone

several Italian locals (Roma, Bologna, Forli, Ferrara, Cagliari, Trieste,
Messina, etc),

familiar with the Italian culture, but mainly because this is the part of the
network that i would really really like to contribute to.Apart from the
general strategy of the Netcom for the network,

attracting new (active) members.2) improve the communation among locals, the

And I am happy you decided to count on the help of Subcommies who know well
their locals. It's very honest and wise from your side to admit you need
help of people from a side of the Network you have never worked in.

understood you only want to change the name, not delete the archives of
Rainbow-L, right? (please confirm). If you just want to change the name I
see it in perfect coherence with the current situation. Just practically as
Antonio pointed out: in Aachen we will change Netcommie again, therefore I
guess that we will change again the name of the ML. Isn't it a bit
confusing? Not that it's a huge problem, a name stays a name, but I
wouldn't like if this lead to constant unsubscriptions...It's
already difficult to make aegee members subscribe to one ML, we don't
need to confuse them more and more.

Otherwise what will other Netcommies who take care of other team katja's
locals do? Why can't you create a ML just for your locals? This not
'to leave good memories' but instead to leave Team katja's
locals together for after Aachen, where hopefully another Netcommie will be
chosen for them.

Regions. I am a bit sick of hearing that explanation "as may of you already
know, the regions concept in AEGEE is discontinued, so that there is no such
thing as 'regions' in AEGEE". I am quite an old member and I can
tell you that Regions have NEVER existed, it has always been a "geographical
task division" among Netcommies. The same it is now, it was just decided to
change former names to the name of the Netcommie. And please, if you will
happen to hear from time to time still the name "Rainbow" don't jump as
if you were biten by a dog, I am sure that also a lot of people still uses
the name "Balkania" from time to time...it is simply more practical, instead
of saying everytime the name of the Netcommie. Believe me, it has only to do
with that.

perfect. Just let me say that it's not really coherent (ok, it sounded a
bit funny! No offence, of course) that you mention the locals and then you
mention the name of the Countries. Here people understand perfectly the
concept of Network vs national level, more than you maybe think. Anyway, I
guess it was just a way to make us understand you :)

care of former Team katja's locals, I think we deserve an explanation
from the netcom on what you want to do with this part of the network till
Aachen. I have to say I would have preferred as first email from you an
email where you were introducing yourself, and where you were discretely
sensing the situation, instead of entering like a panzer and communicating a
decision without explaining it well. I tell you this as advice for the
future...
