The EU&Europe Yearplan project 2004 is about to start and this is the invitation to one of the earlist conferences in Minsk. You are more than warmly invited to come. Please, read below the description of the event as well as the possible motives for you to come! 

Title: Mediating Europe: BY, Between and Beyond 

Dates: 3rd to 5th of June in Minsk (Belarus)

Aims:

  a.. Discover your new eastern neighbours Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and the particularities of this "Border Land"! 
  b.. Experience the traditional and modern Belarusian culture and society! 
  c.. Exchange ideas with experts and develop proposals for further European integration and cooperation with the "East"! 
  d.. Learn more about the controversies of European Identity! 
  e.. Have fun and spirit during crazy parties and European Night! 
  f.. Breathe AEGEE-spirit in the SPIRIT region!
Short description: 

The overall idea of the conference is to reflect upon the issue of new borders and its potential devision into EU "insiders-outsiders" in the perspective of the mediative function that can be carried out by Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova in this regard. Such an approach develops further the concept of "New Neighbourhood" (being BY) towards cooperation, more adequate representation of this region within EU and its cross-border specificity (Between), in particular being a border space between EU and Russia, as well as enlargement of the eastern horizons of the European identity (Beyond).
