The Future of Europe...?
HRWG Migration Case Study Trip - Morocco, Spain, France
SUNDAY 25TH APRIL at 15:15
Leaders: Virag Szabo (AEGEE-Szeged), Alistair de Gaetano (AEGEE-Valletta)

As part of its project on Migration, following the success of the 2
conferences in Macerata and Valletta, the Human Rights Working Group is
organising a Case Study Trip on the Topic in Morocco, Spain and France in
July and August. This will be coordinated by a team of AEGEE members from
around Europe, in collaboration with partner NGOs in the 3 countries where
the event will take place. The objectives of the CST are:

„Ï To create a new vision and understanding among CST participants on
mutual cooperation and active citizenship

„Ï To discuss better integration of legal immigrants living and
working in Europe, with special emphasis on equal treatment of legally
employed foreign workers, and policies aiming at non-discrimination of
third country nationals

„Ï To answer the question of how to assist immigrants legally
residing in Europe, wishing to contribute to the development process of
their country of origin

„Ï To discuss policies for preventing irregular immigration

„Ï To meet representatives of local NGO think-tanks, offices of
international organizations and potential partner students associations

„Ï Finally, to also strengthen cooperation between youth from
European and non-European (ex. Mediterranean) countries

HRWG has already approached partners and made applications for funds, as
well as come up with a basic thematic structure, including a complete
draft programme. The aim of this workshop is to present the CST as it
currently stands, and also recruit interested persons who are ready to
contribute towards finalizing it, as regards goals, working structures and
projected results, on both local and European levels.

On behalf of the HRWG,
Alistair
