In order to avoid last-minute problems with the application software,
missing export passwords, a slow/ broken Internet connection etc. the
smartest move for you is to hand in the applications as soon as possible!

We compiled a list of common questions and problems for you to check and
avoid:

- Did you download LAMA 1.3 for Windows (or DataPerfect 4.0 for DOS) from
the web at http://www.karl.aegee.org/LAMA?

- Did you download the "dat_sus.mdb" update for LAMA 1.3 that contains info
for new SUs that were announced after the SU booklet was printed?

- Have you entered the "export password" in the LAMA setup? This was sent
to you with the PM paper mailing of AEGEE-Europe. Contact the SUCT if you
lost it. The "export password" makes sure that only authorized board
members hand in SU applications, and it allows you to perform certain
database functions on the web lateron.

- The login screen that you see after starting LAMA asks you for a username
and password. Don't enter the "export password" here, but start with
"local" as username, and RETURN (=nothing) as password. The username
"treasurer" allows you to edit fee payments; please refer to the "LAMA
guide 1.0" (pages 8, 9) and the readme.txt file for more details.

- Every (!) message sent to [log in to unmask] is automatically answered
with a detailed reply about all processed applications, and that usually
within 1/2 to 2 hours. If the reply contains the text "No command found"
then something went wrong; make sure that you only send the file SU-EXP.SUX
(and not for example SU-CSV.TXT).

- It is important that for each applying person valid address data (postal
address, phone, fax, e-mail) are present. Without those the SU organizer
cannot contact the applicant, inform her of the final selection, make visa
arrangements and so forth. Hint: From the SU web "application assistance"
we made the experience that applicants often provide a wrong or non-working
e-mail address for themselves...

Good luck with your applications and have a great summer!
