European Congress for students and young people in the frame of the World
Summit of the Head of States (G8), to be held next July in Genova.

Event organised in the frame of the AEGEE Europe yearplan project "Quo Vadis
Europe?".

PLACE: GENOVA, ITALY

DATE: 2nd to 6th JULY, 2001
(2nd arrival day, 3rd-5th working days, 6th departure day).

The main items to be discussed are:

1 - The role of youth organisation in social development (fighting social
exclusion, promoting solidarity, tolerance, human rights, intercultural
learning, health education...)

2 -Mobility: studying and working abroad (student exchanges, Socrates,
Tempus, traineeships abroad, obstacles to mobility, visa problems...)

3 - The enlargement process: consequences for the European civil societies
 (motivation of the candidates countries to join the EU, new relations
EU/candidates countries,
 countries not yet involved in the enlargement process -can they also
benefit  from this or will they mainly face disadvantages?- ...)

 4 - Opinions about the World Summit (G8): what do we know about it? what do
we think about?

Working methods: working groups that will discuss and prepare opinion papers
on the different topics and a final plenary session.

The Congress is OPEN to students and young people from all over Europe, not
anly AEGEE members.

The working language will be English.
