Hi people !
We know that you all desperately want to hear some news about our
Carnival event
" FROM MASK till DOWN" from 03(Friday)-06(Monday) March in RIJEKA ,
specially you who areaccepted !
( I received one funny letter where person asked me where is Rijeka ??
SO for those who doesn't know where is Rijeka , take a map and try to find
black dot on Croatian North-West sea side , it is near Trieste in Italy...)
First, to resume from the last time :
Our carnival in Rijeka is International Carnival that is also placed in
World Carnival Calendar .... WHy?
Because it's great !
This year Aegee members will have a chance to feel how it is "hard"
to
survive the last weekend of Carnival period in our region.
Carnival period ends with a parade in the centre of the town. ( You know,
where
people of all age in their masked groups walk through the streets in the
centaur of the town ) .
We'll provide 3 meals on Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Friday( when
you all should be here ) and breakfast on Monday-departure day !
Fee is 60 DM !
What is new ?

12:30 We are going to Opatija , one beautiful tourist place on sea !
13:30 LUnch in one of the Opatija resturants
15:00 Opatija sight seeing
17:00 Coming back to our head-quarters
18:00 Dinner
19:00 Put your masks on! Next direction is Kraljevica town (During Carnival
period in our region every weekend there are parties at different places and
this town is the best place for it . This will be also special since this
will be the last Carnival party in our region !)
21:30 Kraljevica
04:00 Coming back :-))
NOTE : For Saturday party you should bring your own mask because for
non-masked people entrance costs 10 DM, and for this party you don't have
to bring complicated mask .Without mask you would also have stupid feeling
because of the atmosphere! )
**SUNDAY ( I hope that you people won't go to "hi" on Saturday cause it
might be bloody Sunday for you )

13:00 Paaaarade begins (later,down, I wrote what is going on in parade )

( Well, crowd is quite big around 100000 people )

- NOTE : For parade on Sunday WE are MAKING Simpson's mask for you all !!
**MONDAY
9:00Breakfast & collecting energy to go home !
-And when you find yourself in normal state we'll let you go ....
THen news about Sunday ....
Among the other ideas we decided to be the Simpson's (don't ask why?)
and the others from that cartoon, for this parade(ceremony) on Sunday .
We'll be ONE of the 150 different groups in the parade with ,100.000
people,spectators around us .We'll walk through the centre of the city,
main street, harbour (basically in the circle :-).
We rented some old car which will be decorated with some cartoon scene
(and it will be useful for taking exhausted Aegean's . Also it will be used
for "Drink " storage to help us all in "hard " parade walking . Then
some loud music on it...... ) .
Furthermore CArnival organisers will give us one beautiful meal, dish
"beams and cabbage" + wine for worming up (This was last year ) so we will
have enough energy for parade ...
As we said last time, parade is the hottest spot and the best part of
our
event . You'll see why !
"Only" not so good news is that Sleeping bags are needed !
Due to mask costs and prices for accommodation with beds we decided to
make masks and rent a vehicle for the parade .(Since Aegee members have
never been in parade, they were usually just watching the ceremony, we
wanted to make
something different ) ! You we'll sleep in one elementary school near town
centre!
Although we are full for now we decided to find some more places
(maybe 5 to 10) .

NOTE 1 : Candidates for those few places must not need visa for Croatia ,
since a lot of time is needed until the person receives our invitation
letter .
NOTE 2 : Those people who are coming from far away we'll provide
accommodation on Thursday . And if someone would like to stay in Rijeka for
more few days we'll find some cheap accommodation for you ! This stands also
for those who are going to P.M. !
NOTE 3 : YOU, WHO ARE already accepted, must confirm your arrival
before 23. of February !

Turkey , Netherlands (only1) ,SLovakia,Poland,Italy,Romania,France(only
1) ,Yugoslavia ( nice news is that finally we'll have 7 Yu participants,
you know war in Croatia etc... ).
