Lodging: All accepted participants will sleep at the following location. The registration will also take place here: Universitair Sport Centrum (USC) De Boelelaan 46 Amsterdam We will be sleeping in a gym, so dont forget your matrass and your sleeping bag. Since there are so many people it will be very crowded, so please think about that! Due to fire regulations SMOKING IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN. If you want to smoke you´ll have to go outside. Also do not open the emergency exits! The alarm will go off! How to get there? Directions to the USC By plane: From Schiphol Amsterdam Airport take the train to station Amsterdam Zuid/WTC. Follow the signs from there to the USC. By train: You can either go to station “Amsterdam Zuid/WTC” or, if you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, take metro 51 in direction “Amstelveen Middenhoven/Poortwachter” Get out at “Amsterdam Zuid/WTC” and follow the signs. By car/bus: From highway A2 go to the A2 at “knooppunt Holendrecht”, in direction of Den Haag. From highway A10 take exit S109 (RAI/Buitenveldert). Go south and take a turn to the right. This is De Boelelaan. After about 200 metres there is the USC at your right. On thursdays and fridays there is paid parking between 9.00 and 19.00. By Eurolines: You will arrive next to the trainstation “Amstel”. From there take metro 51 in direction “Amstelveen Middenhoven/Poortwachter”. Get out at “Amsterdam Zuid/WTC” and follow the signs. FOOD: Breakfast and lunch will be provided for and distributed at the gym in the morning.We will give you some good¨places to have dinner at. Registration * Registration takes place from Thursday 12.00 untill Friday 14.30 in the same building as the lodging will take place. * The Fee must be payed upon arrival and in Euro's. Please pay as much as possible in exact change. Bills of 100 euros and higher will not be accepted. After paying the fee, you will recieve the access-pass for the sleeping-halls. * The registration of all apllicants will close at friday 14.30, at the same time as the closure of the AEGEE-Europe registration. At 15.00 we will divide the remaining places to the people who are there at that moment, can pay fee and proof that they are an AEGEE-Member! What else is there to do? Fun,fun,fun! Friday the 3rd : Pub-party in “De Steeg” Also available for non-participants Saturday the 4th: European Night If there are enough tickets available this is also available for non-participants. Sunday the 5th : Liberation Day Available for everyone! In the scheme above you can see how you can enjoy yourself after the plenary-sessions. Friday night we’ll start around nine with a party in two small streets that are the centre of student nightlife in Amsterdam: Voetboogstraat and Handboogstraat, together known as De Steeg. The cafes d’Oude Herbergh, Maarten, De Havelaar and Nota Bene will give a reduction on their beer-prices if you show them your hospital-bracelet. You will also be welcome in café/coffee shop De Dampkring, one of the cosiest of Amsterdam. Later in the evening there will be the possibility to dance in some of these pubs. Saturday is the day of the European Night. With almost 1000 visitors it will be the biggest party AEGEE-Amsterdam has seen for years. So, be early if you don’t want to miss anything. We start around nine in the Atrium (Oudezijds Achterburgwal 237). Between 2 and 3 o’clock busses will bring you back to the gym. All Friday and Saturday we will be selling tickets for the European Night for 3 € (including cloak-room and bus) at the information-desk. In the Netherlands the 5th of May is the day we celebrate the liberation from the Germans. All day long there will be special activities in the city-centre like free concerts and cabaret. So, if you don’t need to go home right away, go into the city and join the party! We hope you will all have an unforgettable time here in Amsterdam!
