Future of AEGEE-Europe

From 1-4 May 2003, the General Assembly (Agora) of AEGEE Europe, the European Students' Forum took place in Constanta, Romania.
More than 700 delegates and envoys arrived from all over Europe to discuss the future of AEGEE as well to elect the new executive bodies of the Association.

Due to unexpected circumstances, the Agora did not take place in Bucharest as planned. However, with the great support of the Romanian Government, specifically from the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, it was successfully relocated to the seaside town of Constanta.

The Agora of AEGEE Europe is organised bi-annually and it therefore focuses on the long term planning and the future development of the Association. Delegates participate in workshops concerning the most debated issues in Europe and shape the policies of AEGEE. Last but not least they vote upon position papers and proposals and elect their European representatives.

Furthermore the election of the new Comité Directeur of AEGEE Europe was finalised in Romania. The new European Executive Board consists of:

Ms Diana Filip - President

Mr Adrian Pintilie - Secretary General

Mr Nicola Rega - Treasurer

Ms Sena Latif -Vice-President and Human Resources Officer

Ms Malin Kaiser - Vice-President and External Relations Officer

Ms Aniko Vass - Projects Officer

Mr H. Emrah Kurt - Officer for European Institutions

Mr Eric Nael - Network Development Officer

Mr Alexander Taylor - Public Relations Officer

The next General Assembly of AEGEE-Europe will take place in Zaragoza, Spain, in October 2003.

AEGEE is one of the biggest students' associations in Europe; the network boasts approximately 17.000 students, which means that AEGEE has the means to successfully execute our various projects. These projects are designed to facilitate our fundamental principles: European integration, peace and stability, cultural exchange and higher education. The outcome of our various projects is intended to influence the decision-making process.
