Hello-hello all around Europe!!

I`m very happy that soooo many of you have already indicated your willingness and interest in the next year-plan project team, and I have received loooots of questions, so here I come and I`ll try to answer them quickly, so that you can make up your mind till midnight to bombard me with your applications.

Regarding the positions.

1/ Project Manager: mainly needs to possess co-ordination, management, and very good communicational skills. Very good I mean, imagine a web of people around you and you need to possess all information from all sides. You need to co-ordinate them and provide the task division. You do NOT need to run all parts of the project but harmonise the work of the people around you and ensure the flow of communication.

2/ PR Responsible: needs to ensure wide visibility for the project, both internal (within the network to get people and antennae motivated to participate) and external. This latter category includes getting patrons, partners for the project, keeping in contact with them and companies as well as institutions. This part entwines with the FR and lobbying task. Besides, press releases and articles also fall under the person`s responsibility.

3/ FR and lobbying Responsible: this is the most crucial part of the project. Without funds the project cannot really function. You`ll need to contact hundreds of foundations, companies and all the European Institutions, check the budget lines by the EC and see if the project fits under a certain budget line. This needs to be started quite in advance, I would say in January already, if not December.

4/ IT Responsible: main task is to create a website, then to maintain it and update it continuously, ensuring thru this also the visibility, as well as availability for both internal and external contacts. This is not very time-consuming, but every project needs 1 person who the team can rely on and when they need a favour, the IT genius is there to do it ASAP.

5/ Conferences Responsible: this person will mainly be responsible for the opening and the final conferences of the project, and besides, any kind of conferences the network would like to organize, helping the network, and ensuring the high quality of the conferences. This will include also some FR skills for the conferences, but can be done together with the FR and lobbying responsible.

6/ Projects Responsible: this person has not a very traditional role, it rather connects to the structure of this year-plan. There are other projects that may go under the year-plan topic in 2004 (it will be a matter of agreement with the project managers) and this person should keep in contact with all these projects, ensuring the proper communication flow between the European Identity Team and the other teams. This is again not very time-consuming, but important for the good communication and to have all the results of the other projects by the end of the year-plan project.

The project is already in quite a good state, so the new project team can start working right away and can use the already existing structure as well as modify them and add the new ideas.

This year-plan is highly cultural oriented, people have already indicated their willingness to shoot documentaries about the topic or organize both local and European events. It should start next spring, in 2004 and should last till the end of next year.

The HRWG and the IPWG have already showed interest in co-operating and co-organising the project.

For details (structure, people interested etc) please contact me individually.

And . I`m waiting for your applications till tonight at midnight!!! Don`t make it long and complicated, just state your name, antenna, the filed of interest and your motivation and experience. Please try to make it about half a page only. Thank you.

C U all then ;)
