There you find the official em@il sent on PRWG-L. The further devellopment/discussion will take place on PRWG-L following the timetable below. (Join by going to http://www.aegee.org/wg/prwg/) Dear PRWG-L reader! I’m Martin, “Local PRWG Responsible” of PRWG. As you may have read in my application for this position, one of the tasks that I set myself as an aim is to devellop an “overall internal PR strategy” in the course of my term and to make this tool available to as many PRofessionals as possible. In order to make this strategy as good as possible I need the help of everyone who reads this list. Because normally my ideas are maybe not the best ones that are possible. Or maybe because in your country some aspects are totally different. Because this concept should be applicable to all antennas, the cooperation of as many people as possible is needed. This means that I explicitly ask you to give me your comments and to tell me where I am wrong or where I forgot important aspects. If you want to let everybody know about your comments or iniciate a discussion send them on PRWG-L. If you only want to make some small remarks you may send these to [log in to unmask] -INTENTIONS: This concept is meant to be an overview on what we will be dealing with in detail during the next months. Its supposed to categorize the process of internal PR which has a great area where it overlaps with HR strategy. So the process of internal PR is categorized by the example of “the average member”. The aim is to divide the process that this average member runs through into senseful steps. Then we can seperate the different steps and deal with them seperately. The aim then is to devellop and bring together a collection of measurments that can be used to influence the process into the desired direction. This means also learning how to lower the dropout rate between the different steps. This includes a collection of advices and possibilities "When to do what". Also it is planned to organize a material collection with tools for the respective steps. This material collection could be burnt on CD and distributed at an AGORA. Altogether this concept will provide efficient advice on how to plan and structurize internal PR, so that the efforts of your antenna will not be wasted but spent on the spot where they have the gratest effect. Also there will be a collection of “dont’s” so that you don’t have to make the same mistakes that have already been done by others. -Timetable: Till next year: presentation and improvement of the overall step categorization Then every 3 weeks: Dealing with the next step Simultaneously: Material collection -THE CONCEPT OVERVIEW ITSSELF: STEP A “Advertisement” The average person (TAP) doesn’t know AEGEE yet. Somewhere he has to see or hear about it. This is the clasical PR phase. (Posters, Flyers, Infostands, TV commercials, AIDA concept) STEP B “First contact and getting to know each other” TAP actually has the first real contact with AEGEE and AEGEE people. Maybe he comes to an Info evening or just shows up at the social meeting. Then you have various stages when TAP overcomes the natural mistrust and decides to become a member. This is also the phase where he decides to come to AEGEE meetings regularly. This is a phase where out of my experience a lot of AEGEE antennas have problems and where there is a lot to be improved. (See http://www.karl.aegee.org/aeg-IntE.NSF/9afb6a211e17102bc1256322004f24ea/8dda7b9b773c7459c1256dad007c4d58?OpenDocument for first draft) STEP C “First small activities for AEGEE” TAP gets the first time active himself. This is also a very crucial stage of TAP because you have a lot of AEGEE members, who stay on STEP B and do not get active themselves. Thus they do not actively contribute to the community. So during this step TAP has to get possibilities or to be prompted to do the first small things for AEGEE. STEP D “First event and catching enthusiasm” Again this is one of the most important moments in TAP AEGEE life: participating in his/her first event. But honestly: How many members in your antenna have never visited an event? So if they didn’t, how can they ever get alight with the AEGEE spirit? STEP E “Activities out of own motivation” Slowly but definitely TAP develops initiative and does things which support AEGEE out of own motivation. This is already a stage wherer TAP begins to become precious for AEGEE and where the investment slowly begins to pay of. If you have gotten TAP this far you can already be proud of you internal PR. STEP F “Very active person” Here we have the case managers, event organizers, organizers of SUs, local events..., local Boards and all the people you know from the European level. This is the kings class that is the aim of this strategy! STEP Z “leaving AEGEE” This is the immanent danger which accompanies every single step and of course the end of AEGEE live. Naturally every AEGEE member one day comes to this point, but the aim is to be as late as posssible and as softly as possible so that even after leaving AEGEE TAP is not out of the world. So now again I want to ask you to give me your comments! TELL ME WHERE I AM WRONG AND WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED!!! Waiting for your comments on PRWG-L and [log in to unmask] Sincerely Your Martin -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://promo.mail.com/adsfreejump.htm ============================================================================= RAINBOW-L is a regional discussion list of AEGEE.
