:: Action Planning Meeting in Aachen ::

From the 10th to the 12th of September, AEGEE held its European Assembly in Aachen, Germany. The meeting was organized under the label: "Action Europe Planning Meeting". For three days around 200 young Europeans brainstormed at the workshops and discussion sessions in order to come up with new fields of action and projects AEGEE can get involved in, and thus contributing to building up the future of our Association and constructing the ways to improve the life in the societies we live in.
The bi-annual General Assembly of AEGEE was held in Torino (Italy) on the 4th to 7th November 2004.

:: Romania, Bulgaria and the EU ::

From the 16th until the 19th of October the International Conference "Romania, Bulgaria & the EU" took place in Bucarest, Romania, during which students discussed the relations between Romania, Bulgaria and the EU. The conference represented one of the few initiatives in the youth organizations sector to analyse the relations between Romania, Bulgaria and the EU. The event was organized by AEGEE Bucuresti and International Politics Working Group - both bodies of the students' association AEGEE - European Students' Forum.

:: EYE Contact in Ankara ::

In the month of October the European Students Forum AEGEE organised in Turkey two remarkable events. First, at the beginning of the month, students of all faiths and none gathered in Ankara for a conference to build understanding between the European and Muslim worlds. Then, on the 21-24th of October, in Izmir, they gathered in a discussion over Turkey and its EU accession chances, opportunities and threats.

The Euro Islam Project, within whose framework the conference in Ankara was organised, is dealing with the theory of a modernized way of living the Islam in harmony with democratic structures. AEGEE, as a European Youth NGO, has the possibility to start discussions and exchanges all over Europe to find out if this theory is a fact, if there is a possibility for politicians to influence the developments and to change prejudices in Media etc.

:: Internal Education in AEGEE ::

In the past weeks two very important internal education events took place - Public Relations European School (12th - 19th of September) in Mannheim (Germany) and European School II (8th - 12th of October) in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Internal Education constitutes a backbone of AEGEE's Human Resources strategy. The AEGEE-Academy, the training's deviser and coordinator, is the Working Group of AEGEE-Europe that takes care of the Internal Education and Human Resources in AEGEE. By providing high quality training events, Academy wants to ensure the organisation of high quality projects and events in AEGEE.
