:: AEGEE observes the upcoming elections::
AEGEE members from throughout Europe will travel to Ukraine for the final days of the election, including the voting. They will unobtrusively observe and record the conduct of the elections in a chosen region, announce their activities to the Ukrainian and international media, and report on their findings to AEGEE-Europe as well as to OSCE. The organisation does not support either candidate in the election,
but rather takes a friendly interest, supporting the Ukrainian people in
their wish for free and fair elections. |

:: Let's build Ukrainian democracy together ::
At least 20 AEGEE
members (from Western and Central Europe) will be sent to Ukraine to watch
the presidential elections, that will take place on 26th December 2004.
The AEGEE's observers will focus on observance of democratic procedures
toward facilitating the Ukrainian electorate's free choice when the voters
go to the polls. It is not the election's returns or outcome that matters,
rather, this is a democratic and transparent procedure to enable the
Ukrainian voters to express their will. |
