:: AEGEE's General Assembly::

On the 4th-7th November the European Students’ Forum AEGEE held its biannual General Assembly (AGORA) in Torino. 800 delegates gathered to discuss the future of AEGEE activities as well as AEGEE policies and statements.
For four days AEGEE members participated in 25 workshops and several plenary meetings. Delegates came to Torino from all parts of Europe, from over 260 academic centers. Subjects of discussion centered round AEGEE’s policy plan, projects and activities for the coming months. The participants voted upon project proposals as well as elected their European representatives: members of commissions, working group boards and the European Board of Directors (Comite Directeur).

:: AEGEE calls for democracy in Ukraine ::

AEGEE promotes democracy and the rule of law throughout Europe. We declare our support and solidarity for all the Ukrainians campaigning for their right to live in a constitutional state. Freedom of speech and voting should be free of pressure and control from the state authorities, but should be supported, cherished and encouraged, for the benefit and development of the society across the whole European Continent.

:: European Day of Laguages 2004 ::

The European Day of Languages was first celebrated in 2001 in the frame of the European Year of Languages, initiated by the European Commission and the Council of Europe. Since then, AEGEE has organised language-related activities all over Europe every year. The main focus of our activities is on the European Day of Languages celebrated in November. Several branches of AEGEE Network took the challenge of introducing new languages to students in their local communities. By celebrating the European Day of Languages, we would like to promote the rich cultural heritage of Europe and foster mutual understanding among different language communities all over Europe with a special focus on young people.

:: European Identity::

The 2004 EU enlargement has a major impact on the relationships between different European countries and the EU within its new borders. AEGEE’s Yearplan Project "EU & Europe" aims at discussing questions of identity both for the countries that remain outside these new borders and for the EU. This project is carried out by the International Politics Working Group of AEGEE-Europe (IPWG) within the 2004 Yearplan Topic "European Identity".
