:: 20 years of AEGEE::

The AEGEE 20 project encompasses all official and unofficial celebrations of the 20th anniversary of AEGEE-Europe. Through media events, social activities, publications and a new website, the project will draw attention to the achievements of AEGEE-Europe over 20 years, the important and valuable role it has played in the process of European Integration, and the contributions it has made in the lives of its members.

:: AEGEE calls on the EU to review its visa policy ::

AEGEE enthusiastically appreciates the momentous decision of Ukraine temporarily cancelling visas for Citizens of EU countries and Switzerland. This is an important step on the journey towards eventual visa freedom throughout the continent, which is one of our long-term goals.Working to raise young people's awareness of European Citizenship, AEGEE members believe that mobility is a key element in the future of cooperation and peace in Europe. That is why AEGEE has started lobbying for changes in visa procedures since its foundation, 20 years ago.

:: Let's go global ::

Sustainable results with the production of an Action Paper. AEGEE Youth & Globalisation Project Team in cooperation with AEGEE-Maastricht organized an International Youth conference, Youth on the Move: Let’s go global, from 5-8 April 2005, in Maastricht, for active youths from all over Europe with the support of the European Youth Foundation and the Council of Europe. Transcending mere talk, the conference was targeted towards obtaining concrete, concise and sustainable results with the final production of an Action Paper, where it could provide the working strategies and necessary tools to be implemented by youth leaders in their own communities.

:: Internal Education in AEGEE ::

Activities organised by the Academy foster the knowledge management in AEGEE. By means of various training events, the Academy strives to transfer skills and experience to the next generations of AEGEE members. The events focus on a choice of themes and topics, including Project Management, Public Relations, Fund Raising and others. What’s more, participants of the trainings get opportunities to understand the mechanisms on basis of which AEGEE and other NGO’s operate.
Diverse training methods, which include lectures, workshops and case work, create the perfect environment for fast knowledge absorption among the trainees.

:: The Bridge - connecting mobility and disability::
The Bridge project addresses the mobility and integration of young people with physical disabilities in the work of NGOs not directly dealing with disability issues. Its main aim is to enable these people to participate in the development of civil society by joining events and other activities, through better practical support, improved perceptions of the role of young disabled people in society, and greater awareness of their needs.

:: café babel - Partner of the month ::

Aiming to go beyond national politics and media, every week café babel offers its readers critical analysis of European current affairs on the internet in six different languages.

The challenge: to create a multilingual European magazine on current affairs designed for readers across borders, analysing the political and intellectual evolution of the continent. A platform for Europe’s civil society, café babel is the place where the voices and cultures of the entire European continent are heard. It is the only media in Europe whose authors write in their mother tongue: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Catalan since the 17th of May 2004.
