Dear friends, The German Heinz-Schwarzkopf Foundation announced that the award "The young European of the year" will be granted for 2005. The prize will be awarded to one of the candidates on the age between 18 and 28 who has shown dedication and commitment in voluntary work, has shown extraordinary commitment in the promotion of international understanding as well as improved the integration of Europe. The prize money is 5,000 EURO, which should be used to finance a six month internship at the European parliament or at another European institution. The prize could also be used for financing a project that positively contributes to the process of European Integration. The prize has also an aim to be a motivating factor for this young person to continue in acomplishing his/her own visions and ideas. Such prize was awarded to Ms. Mjelma Mehmeti in 2002.
