Dear Rainbow
Friends,
As you've realised with the
previous e.mail of our dear Silvia, only few days are
rest and we'll gather in Warszawa
for one of the biggest Agoras ever!!! The Agora, as you
know, is the General Assembly, the main making-decision democratic organ of our
association where you'll have the great opportunity to meet AEGEE people from
all over Europe and to share your experiences each other...But in order to give
you a picture of what will happen ( so you can enjoy your preparation
for this "european appointment") our Chairwoman Wiebke sent on the
AEGEE-AGORA ML ( if you are not subscribed yet you can go
to /?SUBED1=aegee-agora-l&A=1, as Silvia wrote you...but as the ancient
romans said "repetita iuvant" - the repeated things are
good-) some online lessons!!! You can read the first one below...and if you
are so curious that you can't wait for the next lesson, you can also check
www.aegee.org/chair....
I. Before the Agora
>
> In
order to represent your local or WG, you should be well informed
> about
what is going to happen during the Agora. The best source of
> information
in this case is the Agora booklet, which is published by the
> Secretary
General of AEGEE-Europe Bojana, via AEGEE-Agora-L it will be
> announced
where you can download it.
>
> The booklet contains various
information:
>
> 1.
Agenda
>
> The agenda has been set by the Chair
team and the Comité Directeur. It
> gives you an overview what is going to
happen when and which are the
> scheduled issues (reports, votings,
workshops etc.).
>
> 2. Reports
>
> As according to
the CIA (Corpus Iuridicum AEGEEnse - AEGEE´s statutes
> and working
formats) the Comité Directeur, Working Groups, Commissions
> and Liaison
Officers have to present a report of their activities since
> the last
Agora. While they are presented during the plenary session, you
> can also
find them in a more detailed version in the booklet. As you are
> asked to
vote upon the reports presented by the CD, you should discuss
> the report
in advance in your local and also discuss whether you have
> any questions
to the report.
>
> 3.
Proposals
>
> On the occasion of the Agora also
proposals for modification of the CIA
> are presented. Also these
proposals you can find beforehand in the
> booklet. Together in your local
you should form an opinion regarding the
> proposals which you as delegate
or envoy are going to express during the
> Agora first of all by taking
actively part in the discussion, but also
> by voting on it.
>
> 4.
Candidatures
>
> Last, but not least the Agora is
the place where the AEGEE members are
> elected for open positions. Those
can be positions within the Comité
> Directeur, the Commissions of
AEGEE-Europe, the Chairperson and
> Secretary of Agora and EBM or for the
Summer University/Find Europe
> Coordination Team. The respectively open
positions are announced in
> advance by the Juridical Commission, who is
responsible for gathering
> all candidatures. Finally the candidatures are
published in the Agora
> booklet and also presented at the Agora, where
you as a representative
> of your local have the chance to ask questions
to the candidates.
>
> Next to your preparation by reading the
booklet the Agora is the
> occasion on which you have to fulfil the
criterion of the payment of
> membership fees to AEGEE-Europe. As you
know, a certain amount of the
> fee that you charge from your members has
to be transferred to
> AEGEE-Europe. This fee depends on the country in
which your AEGEE
> antenna is located. Before the Agora, the Financial
Director of
> AEGEE-Europe Marek will provide you with more detailed
information about
> the exact amount you have to pay. You can either
transfer the money in
> advance or pay at the registration desk of
AEGEE-Europe at the Agora.
> Bear in mind that at the Spring Agora
additionally also the Summer
> University fee of 2.5 Euro per application
has to be paid. In case you
> have any questions regarding the payment
please contact Marek
> ([log in to unmask]).
>
> In the next mail you will find out what is going to happen DURING
the
> Agora, so stay tuned!
