level!...there is still a lot to do in European education and
members of the European Students' Forum – AEGEE say: Let's
improve it!
The
AEGEE flagship project 2007 Education Unlimited! is
rocking! It aims at strengthening involvement of

Mediaschool 2007 Eindhoven
From the 23rd until the 30th of March AEGEE-Eindhoven in
corporation with AEGEE.tv organized their biannual mediaschool
again. In the weekend the weekend the participants received
very interesting workshops about movie making. In the following week
there was a very large student congress in Eindhoven with around 350
participants called the European Week Eindhoven. During this event
the participants of the mediaschool could train their just developed
movie making skills by making nice short movies of this week. In
small groups they made one movie a day and it was screened during
this congress for everybody to see. The movies were a great success
and can still be seen on the AEGEE.tv website.
See you all in two years again!

NM-Opportunity to change your future
AEGEE-Budapest took the possibility this spring for organizing
the Network Meeting of the former Carpathian region with the title
’NWM-Opportunity to change your future’. Besides introducing how AEGEE
is working, we had an other main topic as well: ’How to go on after
our higher educational studies?’. We chose this one because it is
not really easy to find a job with just a degree in your hand all
around Europe. We had lectures from AEGEE-members (e.g.: about how
the new network is working, as well as about the Education
Unlimited! Project) as well as from representatives of companies who
were specialized in the labor force. But an AEGEE event can’t be
complete without workshops! So we also had some of them, like a
leadership simulation (demonstrated by building up card castles),
and how a job application looks like. We all enjoyed the
AEGEE-spirit and AEGEE-Budapest is looking forward to organizing its
next AEGEE event as well!

When the dream came true
It was real, it was inspiring, it was great and it was action!
One of Network Meetings 2007 was held in Riga,
and we can truly say that all 41 participants and 6 tutors from 10
countries went home satisfied after spending a weekend in NetMet
“Real Inspiring
Great Action”! We were studying a
lot in 10 useful workshops. We were relaxing a lot before, after and
during the workshops through parties, Latvian style dinner, European
Night, games, games and games again. For a lot of participants it
was their first event and for a lot of them it was the first time in
Riga. We are very sure that it wasn’t the last one and that you will
still hear about them! And yes, thanks for writing in the
evaluations, that the participants had the best food from all AEGEE
events where they have been! ;)

Defence of Human Rights in Eastern Europe -
Conference
AEGEE Cosenza, organized on March 16th, a conference held at the
University of Calabria, in Cosenza, Italy entitled, “Defence of
Human Rights in Eastern Europe” with the objective of analysing
where Eastern Europe stands within the defence of human
rights. Through this conference, AEGEE Cosenza aimed at bringing
together young people to discuss such an important matter and
created a great opportunity to exchange experiences, knowledge, and
opinions and to dialogue with other people from different
cultures. The Conference involved professors from the University
of Calabria who shared their analysis of the issue, in particular,
the Armenian issue, the situation of the new member states and the
potential new member states and the situation in Russia and
Cecenia. After the hard work at the conference and workshops
which followed, all participants enjoyed a great night out in the
town and parties with all the Erasmus students staying at the
University of Calabria.

Pre-event "Back to your teens" 07-03
Who would have thought that songs like "Wannabe" and "Rhythm is a
dancer" would bring up so many nostalgic feelings? The party in
Maastricht proved it to be. Masses of sweaty people were
dancing to well-known and humiliating tunes of the nineties.
Everyone used this party as a great excuse to dance to Scatman John
and admit without shame that they know the entire lyrics
by heart. Awards were given to the best outfit and the
"Macarena" was danced in honour of the winner. The party made
rise to one question: what music of this decade will we look back
upon with sentimental feelings and feel no shame of dancing to it?
The Ketchup Song? Schnappi? Only time will tell, I guess.
