Preparing for the Agora: Motions

Frequent Agora visitors are used to dealing with a lot of proposals during a statutory event. But during recent Agorae a new trend could be spotted: the use of motions. Why are these motions used, and how are they different from proposals? Wieke van der Kroef will discuss these questions basing herself upon her interpretation of the rules on motions in the CIA  as well as their use in Parliaments.

However, there was at the same time a large gathering of protesters, rallying against the current developments in Russia on the matter of LGBT rights. This is a report from Anne Bakhuizen, President of AEGEE-Amsterdam, explaining her views on what was happening in her city.

Are you a good lobbyist?

“Are you a good lobbyist”? This was the central question to a simulation played at the Summer University of AEGEE-Delft, “Create your own world”. More than 20 participants and some of the organisers took part in this interactive workshop on European Union sustainability policy, getting a hands-on grip on the mechanisms of lobbying at the European level.
