AEGEE actively present at the Education Week 2014
AEGEE was present at the Education Week 2014, organised by the European Youth Forum from 4-7 November. We had the opportunity to present several initiatives we are or have been working on, for example the new GR-EAT project or finishing COY project. Read the live reporting by the YFJ here.

November 1st was a special day for the Democracy in Practice project: not only did they get to sign the contract to become an official AEGEE-Europe project, but also we got ratified by the Agora! Thank all of you for your support!

Guidelines for the Action Agenda 2014-15 available now
In the " Guidelines to the Action Agenda 2014 - 2015" you will find a short explanation of the Strategic Plan, Action Agenda and the Action Agenda Cordination Committee (ACT). The most important content however consists of concrete examples of activities you could organize related to the Action Agenda and a list of all European bodies that could help you with it.
Do not hesitate to contact ACT ( [log in to unmask]) if you have any questions about the Guidelines or the Action Agenda in general.

Election Observation Project goes to Moldova!
The Election Observation Project of AEGEE is heading to Moldova! But first, they need your support! They have launched a crowd-funding campaign in order to reimburse the travel expenses of the observers. The minimum contribution is 5€ - and every single one counts! You can also get some goodies as rewards! Participate and donate here.

AEGEE presenting European Student Mobility in Euro-Brics consulation round
AEGEE is coordinating the LEAP Euro-Brics online consultation on Student Mobility on 25th November. During two hours, students, professors and officials from both European and BRICS countries will gather online to present their perspectives.
The goal is to discuss and to envision how to improve and reform student mobility programs such as Erasmus to increase the opportunities for mobility and to develop a quality experience for students who will go abroad.
Submit your ideas and proposals in this survey how to develop the Erasmus program in the future.

AEGEE-Europe is going east with its new contact in Tyumen!
On the 22nd of October, it was announced that AEGEE-Europe is going to the east and a new contact in Tyumen has been founded. Being located in Siberia, 1,700 kilometers east of Moscow, this new contact is currently the most eastern outpost of AEGEE, although there had been more eastern located contacts Tomsk and Vladivostok in the past. These contacts, however, never signed the Convention d’Adhésion, so let’s hope Tyumen will! The AEGEEan spoke to Marina Ulybysheva to find out more about this new contact!

There are many things that make the upcoming “Capital Cities” event special. For the first time in a great while (or, at least, as far as we can remember!), a New Year’s Event will take place in two countries by two AEGEE locals.

Local of the Month October: Team Building is the Key for AEGEE-Barcelona
AEGEE-Barcelona is one busy antenna! They have meetings every Saturday where they meet, socialize and discuss the future of their antenna. In one of those meetings a while ago, they decided to host Fundraising European School (FRES) and it is that particular event that has made them become the Local of the Month of October.

EU youth unemployment falls throughout 2014
EU-wide youth unemployment fell to 21.6% in September 2014, down from 23.5% in September 2013, new data from Eurobarometer have confirmed. The rate of joblessness amongst Europe’s young people (aged 18-24) continued to fall throughout 2014, and has now reached its lowest point since June 2011.

First ever Global Forum on Youth Policies takes place in Azerbaijan
The first ever Global Forum on Youth Policy took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from October 28-30th, bringing together over 700 delegates from around the world. It aimed to develop a set of guidelines to assist countries in defining, planning, financing, implementing and evaluating youth policies at the national level. According to a UN assessment, only 122/198 countries (62%) had a formal national youth policy in place in 2014.
