Dear Network,
despite it's summertime, the activity never ceases at the Rue du Noyer 55.
What's more, today is a very special day at the headoffice of AEGEE-Europe,
as it's the first day in office of the new Comité Directeur.

The Comité Directeur 2015/16 starts its term!
After three intensive weeks of knowledge transfer, the Comité Directeur
2015/16 kicks off the new term today, full of energy and motivation! You
will hear from us very soon, as we are about to start* the preparations for
our Activity Plan*. In the meantime, you can keep following our adventures

Apply for Autumn Agora Kyiv 2015! The applications for the upcoming Autumn
Agora Kyiv 2015 are open! It lasts from 14th October (arrivals day) until
18th October 2015 (departures day). The deadline to apply will be the 28th
of August. You can submit your application at the Statutory Events intranet

AEGEE-Kyiv also invites you to take part in the conference *Young Ukraine:
Defending, Investing, Acting* that will take place on 13th October. The fee
will cover transportation, lodging and 3 meals per day (15€). You may apply
from 15th August, so stay tuned!
AEGEE Election Observation's upcoming events
AEGEE Election Observation* is going to Catalonia and Ukraine this autumn*!
Apply as a Mission Coordinator or as an observer. In addition, the trainers
for our Election Observation Training were selected, so an open call for
participants will shortly be published. Check our website

Open call for the Spreading Europtimism Working Group!
Do you care about the current state and the future of Europe? Would you
like to inform fellow AEGEE members and young Europeans *about the impact
of the EU in our daily lives*? The Spreading Europtimism Working Group is
currently looking for team members that will work in our Focus Area. If you

The AEGEEan Section
25 years and a European School for AEGEE-Passau, our Local of the Month
AEGEE-Passau has been for many years one of the strongest locals in our
Network. Founded in 1990, soon after the fall of the Iron Curtain, the
local has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a big celebration and the
organisation of a *successful European School 2 on Project Managemen*t.

Welcoming our new Contact in Gaziantep!
AEGEE has expanded once again with a new contact in the Turkish city of
Gaziantep! Our newest addition to the Network* is really motivated
and already working very hard *to make their ambitious plans happen. You

Beyond AEGEE
Unpaid internships on the rise throughout Europe
Due to the financial crisis, unpaid internships are increasing all over
Europe, even within the political institutions in Brussels. Deutsche Welle

publishes an in-depth article about some of the organisations that are
trying to change the situation, such as the European Youth Forum or
InternsGoPro.
Hate speech on the rise
A report from the European Commission against Racist and Intolerance has
noted a worrying rise in online hate speech, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia
in the year 2014, as well as intolerable levels of stigma and
discrimination against LGBT people in some countries.
