as we are getting closer and closer to Autumn Agora Kyiv, the stress levels are rising but we can't wait to meet you again at our big Statutory Event!

Planning the upcoming healthy year




Health4Youth Interest Group is planning its upcoming health year and it is a perfect time to get involved. A Skype meeting will take place on Thursday, 1st October at 8pm CET.  In order to be part of it please fill in the form. May the Health be with you!

AEGEE Election Observation at the Catalan parliamentary elections

AEGEE Election Observation took part last week-end at the Catalan elections, which were transparent and well-administered and offered the voters a genuine choice from among a broad range of political alternatives, according to the observers. Check out the press release with the first conclusions of the EOM!

Civic Education WG: Help the Working Group work!

The Civic Education Working Group has not only 2 aims and 5 objectives, but also plenty of ideas. One of them is to create the collection of civic education workshops scenarios.

But in order to do so,  we need your help!  Many of you have access to amazing materials in your locals, European bodies or other organisations. Many of you are also carrying lots of incredible knowledge in you precious heads. Share it with us!

Structured Dialogue - Empowering young people for political participation!

AEGEE-Europe was present in Luxembourg last week, at the EU Youth Conference for the Structured Dialogue. Over 200 young people and policy makers from across Europe have agreed on a set of joint recommendations and on how to implement these in order to empower young people to participate politically. Non-formal education meets inspiration at the University of Youth and Development

The University of Youth and Development takes place once a year in Mollina, Spain, bringing together representatives of youth organisations and youth movements from all over the world to discuss, train and be trained as well as to take political action around the main issues on the global agenda. AEGEE was there last week, and you can check out our report of such an inspiring event!

Les Anciens come Back2Brussels!

Who are Les Anciens d'AEGEE? They are our Alumni association, and every September we organise the Back2Brussels event, a great place to get inspired by the stories of AEGEE in the past, and who knows, maybe there is some room for further cooperation! We welcomed over 40 current and former AEGEE members at the AEGEE Headoffice last Saturday, on a very successful (and sweet) B2B!

Meet the New NetCommies!

During Spring AgorAsturias, five new members of the Network Commission (NetCom) were elected, namely: Danae Matakou (AEGEE-Athina), Hanna Alajõe (AEGEE-Tartu), Jovana Trajković (AEGEE-Beograd), Orkhan Babayev (AEGEE-Bakı) and Tereza Tokmajyan (AEGEE-Yerevan).

Get to know the new Juridical Commission!

During Spring AgorAsturias, also the new members of the Juridical Commission (JC) got elected: Claudio Gennaro (AEGEE-Cagliari), Glòria (AEGEE-Heidelberg) and Salvatore Maraventano (AEGEE-Palermo). The AEGEEan interviewed them about their work and their aims for the upcoming term.

Erasmus+: call for proposals CANCELLED in Greece

Rumour had for some months, but unfortunately we have received the news today that the Round 3 (1st of October) call for proposals under the Erasmus+ Youth programme has been cancelled in Greece. Greek youth organisations, however, can be included as partners in project applications submitted to other Erasmus+ National Agencies.

Release: the EU Youth Report 2015

The European Commission presented the EU Youth Report 2015 that draws a full picture of the situation of young people in Europe and how policymakers have addressed it in the period 2013-2015. Do you know that 1 out of 4 young Europeans have volunteered and 50% are active in an organisation, club or association?

Online Linguistic Support - make the most of Erasmus+!

Tearing down language barriers has never been easy. However, if you are an Erasmus+ student or a European Voluntary Service Volunteer, you can take advantage of the Online Linguistic Support, a platform launched by the European Commission to support mobility students in such an endeavour.

The OLS is available for German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch, which are the main languages for about 90% of all Erasmus+ mobilities. You might want to check it if you are kicking off your EVS or Erasmus semester in any of the countries where these languages are spoken!

MOOC by KU Leuven at EdX: The EU and Human Rights

Learn how the EU affects your human rights and gain insights into the ways the EU can enhance its positive impact on human rights worldwide! The on-line course, organised by KU Leuven at EdX, will start on 17th October 2015.

#Voices2Paris: Climate Change Storytelling Contest

Are you a journalist or young storyteller interested in the environment and climate change? The UNDP launches a writing contest aimed to raising public awareness on the negative impacts of climate change on people and communities as well as on the opportunities and solutions seen in actions by individuals and governments in vulnerable developing countries. You will have the chance to join the 2015 Paris Climate Conference!

Free online course on "Regions, EU institutions and policy-making"

The course is designed for local and regional authorities but is open to all those interested in the EU, its regions and cities. The course involves videos, factsheets and live debates to be web-streamed from the Committee of the Regions, plus a social forum for exchange and feedback. Those who finish 80% of the course can receive a Statement of Participation. Registration is now open.
