Beyond AEGEE

'Brexit' must be a wake-up call for the European institutions and its Member States

AEGEE reacts to the 'Brexit' referendum results: it undoubtedly poses a challenge to European integration, but also an opportunity to regenerate and energise the European Union, reform it and pave the way to a real Europe of citizens. AEGEE members have a key role in this, so let's keep spreading our values and how the idea of borderless cooperation can be put into practice!

A special mention goes to our antennae in the UK: AEGEE-London, AEGEE Canterbury, AEGEE-Aberdeen, AEGEE-Manchester for the strong commitment and great efforts: they have campaigned actively and raised awareness in their cities on the consequences of the vote - regardless of the outcome of the referendum. Therefore, we must keep taking action together and respond to the upcoming challenges by joining efforts.

AEGEE strengthens cooperation with Council of Europe

AEGEE was represented by our President Aleksandra at the Intergenerational Forum with the focus on youth and the Conference of INGOs of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. It was a great opportunity to exchange project ideas for new initiatives and strengthen our cooperation with the Council of Europe.

The Slovak presidency at a glance

On 1st July 2016 Slovakia took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from the Netherlands and will hold it until 31st December 2016, when the Presidency will be passed to Malta. Which are the priorities of the Slovak presidency? Check out here!
