Call for Short time observers for the EP Election
AEGEE Election Observation is looking for STO's to participate in the European Parliament Election to take place between 23 and 26 May.
Among the requirements is necessary that you are between 18 and 35, and a resident of an EU country (Except Austria and UK), in which you don't hold citizenship.

Essay contets “Creating a Society Full of Kindness”
Young people from around the world are invited to enter the 2019 International Essay Contest for Young People organized by the Goi Peace Foundation.

The theme for this year's contest is: "CREATING A SOCIETY FULL OF KINDNESS." As 20th anniversary special edition, this year’s contest involves action in addition to writing.

The deadline for entry is June 15, 2019.

Prize winners will receive a cash award and will be invited to Japan for the award ceremony. Please see the complete guidelines below or here.

YEAH! is the brand new festival organized by AEGEE / European Students' ForumAEGEE-TorinoTogather and the municipality of Torino. 

It aims at attracting youngsters towards the volunteering world and, more generally, to involve them in the sphere of active citizenship, by granting visibility to big and small organizations active in the city. A festival for young activists, by young activists, in which they are the ones who ask questions and put on the table the topics they consider the most relevant for the development of our society. 

Social media is already out, so give a like in our Facebook page and follow all the news and updates about the festival!

Take part in the ESNsurvey 2019!
The ESNsurvey 2019 is here and is focusing on the impact of the abroad experience in the participation of international students in society. Does going abroad make students more engaged at a political, civil, and social level? What are the particular aspects of active citizenship gained through the abroad experience? Does this have an impact on their opinion about the European Union, as the entity that finances the Erasmus+ Programme? And on their voting behaviour? How do these elements interact with each other?

Youth Development news

  • Young people can finish their Erasmus+ participation in case of a No-deal Brexit. More information here.
  • The first-ever International Day of Education was on the 24th of January 2019. Read the statement here.
  • Euro Youth Mental Health published a report on the lack of transparency regarding the relationship between the health industry (e.g. pharmaceutical and medical industry) and health care professionals and organisations. They state that mental health is over-medicalised. Read the full report here.
  • Decent Jobs for Youth is the global initiative to scale up action and impact on youth employment in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Find out more here.

  • International Women’s Day: on the 8th of March the world celebrated this meaningful day and remembered the many fights, struggles, wins and losses on women’s rights we are looking back on 2019. Read more here. Find out about AEGEE’s activities on this day. → here and here.
  • Ireland ratified the Istanbul Convention: on the International Women’s Day Ireland finally ratified the 2011 Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. Read more here
