this year we will decide on our new Strategic Plan!

It will cover the thematic and organizational strategy for the next three years (2020-2023). This is a very important step for AEGEE! Because of thatwe want to gather as much input as possible from YOU - the members of our organization. You can contribute to the new Strategic Plan by filling in this survey

The results will be taken into consideration for the drafting during the Strategic Planning Meeting in Köln this June.

Essay contets “Creating a Society Full of Kindness”
Young people from around the world are invited to enter the 2019 International Essay Contest for Young People organized by the Goi Peace Foundation.

The theme for this year's contest is: "CREATING A SOCIETY FULL OF KINDNESS." As 20th anniversary special edition, this year’s contest involves action in addition to writing.

The deadline for entry is June 15, 2019.

Prize winners will receive a cash award and will be invited to Japan for the award ceremony. Please see the complete guidelines below or here.

  • Alabama Abortion Law: a public outrage follows the approval of a measure to outlaw almost all abortions by the Alabama Senate. Several other american states are following and changing their laws, too. This is an severe and unacceptable cut of women’s rights. Read more.
  • First same-sex marriages in Taiwan: the asian country legalizes same-sex marriages. It is a premiere for Asia. Read more.
  • WHO removes transgender as mental disorder: The member states of the World Health Organization have adopted a new edition of the International Classification of Diseases, in which “gender incongruence” is not listed as mental disorder anymore. Read more.

  • The WHO classified a burn-out as occupational phenomenon, which means it is not classified as illness or health condition. More information and the definition can be found here.
  • New research shows that Erasmus+ students are more successful in their personal and professional lives. E+ also helps young people to find their desired job quicker. The full press release can be found here and the full study can be found here.
  • The Council of the EU talked about young people and the future of work. They talked about insecurity, social protection and working conditions. The Council of the EU also gave advices to Member States and the European Commission. The draft Council conclusions can be found here.
