Announcement - COVID-19

During these extremely difficult and unprecedented times, we want to express our sympathies to all those affected by the COVID-19 virus. ⠀

With ever-changing conditions, we highly recommend everyone to follow official local or national news sources for up-to-date information in your area. Furthermore, we echo the wide call for self-care and taking preventive measures as advised by the World Health Organisation.

As for our organisation, AEGEE has cancelled all its European events and closed the Head office for work or visits until at least April 12th. Furthermore, the application period for the Summer Universities has been postponed by one month, awaiting further evaluation in the coming weeks. We stand by our volunteers who until the last moment were putting their heart and soul into trying to organise their events, however considering the current situation, there was no other choice. ⠀

We applaud all the innovative ideas that our members and project teams have been coming up with to prevent social isolation or a complete stop of action. We are exploring online participation and the continuation of certain events and will do everything we can to support students and young people around the continent.

CoopStarter 2.0 Survey

Here you can find the survey, which is conducted by AEGEE-Europe with the support of PromoJeunes and Cooperatives Europe in the framework of the CoopStarter 2.0 project.

This project aims to bring cooperative entrepreneurship closer to young people by bridging the knowledge and tool gap between youth organisations and cooperative associations.

The information collected through this survey will allow us to acquire a better understanding of the current state of awareness and of (perceived) obstacles and enablers to cooperative entrepreneurship among young people, and to propose recommendations accordingly.

AEGEE Day 2020

On April 16th, 1985 - AEGEE / European Students' Forum was born. 35 years later, we want to do a #TimeTravel and do celebrate the heritage of what has been, what is and what will be, our extraordinary organization.

With a booklet of 24 activities of different difficulty - either thematic or related to some actions literally any local can do - we want you to celebrate all of the greatness of AEGEE.

Our intentions are clear: seeing most of the locals participate in a huge European Celebration. celebrating AEGEE’s name. Making AEGEE be discovered by some future members who can go shape the next generation of European Borderless Volunteers and honoring people, the stories which made AEGEE the awesome place we all enjoy.

Spring Agora Yerevan 2020 Is Postponed!

It is with great sadness, but after careful consideration that the Comité Directeur, in close communication and cooperation with the Chair Team of AEGEE-Europe and Local Organisers from AEGEE-Yerevan, has decided that due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis Spring Agora Yerevan 2020 can no longer take place as scheduled for the 6-11th of May 2020.

Together with all the involved parties, we are currently looking into the possibility of postponing the event to a later date. Furthermore, the options for extraordinary methods/procedures of decision-making are explored to ensure the continuation of elections in a timely manner.

We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience that this decision may cause, however, the Comité Directeur, the Chair Team and the Local Organizers Team of Agora feel the health risks and the public health restrictions in various parts of Europe are currently too significant for everyone to keep the current date option open any longer.

Further information will follow as soon as possible. As of now, we highly request everyone to avoid purchasing tickets and wait for further details and information to be provided. We hope for your understanding in these difficult times, while we work on the best solution.
