Participants will get high level training in advanced ICT topics, to provide for the biggest problem at the moment: discontinuity of services. After following courses of the IT-School, the participants will be able to set-up and maintain list- and web-servers, create applications in Lotus Notes and Access, have a basic understanding of internetworking technologies and know AEGEE’s current installed base concerning the IT-infrastructure. Also they will be able to act as teachers at coming IT-schools, European Schools and Regional Meetings in the future. AEGEE has always had a innovative approach to Information Technology. We were one of the first to begin to use E-mail and list-servers as a means of communication. At the moment AEGEE dependents a lot on different Information & Communication Technologies. Since AEGEE has Antenna and contacts in more than 250 cities within 35 countries in Europe and is still growing, communication relies heavily on ICT. The ICT-structure of AEGEE is administrated by only a few people at the moment, some of whom have been doing this for many years. As we are all students, the period in which we are active within AEGEE is only a few years at best. Therefor it is important to train new members in order to be able to maintain our ICT-technologies.
