AEGEE’s YOUrope Needs YOU! Project wins European Charlemagne Youth Prize

After being selected national winner of Poland, the YOUrope needs YOU!
Project was today selected as European winner of the Charlemagne Youth
Prize. As well as promoting European and international understanding, the
winning projects will serve as role models for young people living in
Europe. In particular the organisers looked for practical examples of
Europeans living together.

Organised by the European Parliament and the Foundation of the International
Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, the prize provides funding of €10,000 for
existing projects that foster a shared sense of European identity and
cooperation. For more information: http://cyp.adagio4.eu/

The project: YOUrope needs YOU!
”Empowered high school students all over Europe” – this is the main aim of
YOUrope needs YOU!, a European project under the umbrella of the European
Student’s Forum AEGEE. Through workshop sessions at high schools conducted
by university students from different NGOs active in youth work, the project
intends to raise awareness on current European matters, show the practical
opportunities Europe offers, and encourage young people to seize these
opportunities. The use of interactive non-formal education methods will
allow the participating high school students to improve their understanding
of common European values and perspectives. The sessions are organised by
students for students – a great basis for sharing idealism and the
conviction to act and experience Europe. For more info:

AEGEE's European Board of Directors would like to thank the whole project
team for their amazing dedication and enthusiasm in realising this project!

The association: European Student’s Forum AEGEE
AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe / European
Students’ Forum) is a student organisation that promotes co-operation,
communication and integration amongst young people in Europe. As a
non-governmental, politically independent and non-profit organisation AEGEE
is open to students and young professionals from all faculties and
disciplines – today it counts 15.000 members, active in more than 250
university cities in 43 European countries.
