*Youth Participation News *

   - Like many other large scale events, the Conference on the Future of
Europe which was supposed to kick-off in May, is postponed. The conference
is organized by the EU institutions and plans to involve the voices and
ideas of European citizens and young people in particular on the future of
the EU. The scope of the discussions, however, might be adjusted in light
of the COVID-19 pandemic. Read more here

   - Check out the European Movement International’s position on meaningful
citizens participation in the European Union here. AEGEE is a member of
this Europe-wide umbrella organization for civil society actors. Read

*European Citizenship News *
The European Commission has published clearer indications for the weeks
that will follow regarding the containment measures of COVID-19. You can
read it here

"While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to a gradual, science-based
and effective lifting of containment measures, a highly coordinated way
forward is a matter of common European interest."

The most important points of this strategy focus on:

   - The need for a fast response and a set timeline,
   - Common principles,
   - Next steps to deal with the post-lock-down phase.
