AEGEE Europe Provides a Platform to International Youth to Speak about Globalisation 
 
''Youth & Globalisation'', the ambitious 2003 yearplan project of AEGEE-Europe will culminate with a 'World Youth Summit on Globalisation' taking place in Brussels this December. In an international ambiance, the 'World Youth Summit on Globalisation'  gives the floor to the 200 youth opinion leaders to debate and discuss the globalisation process in order to create multiple strategies worked on the basis of compromise and consensus, for dealing with the mentioned process.
 
From 10th to 12th  December, the "Youth and Globalisation" Project Team of AEGEE Europe will organise the association's highlight event of this year - the World Youth Summit on Globalisation.  During the three-day Summit, the 200 participants, coming from all over the world, will be engaged in intensive debates about the five key pillars within the project's framework: economics, politics, culture, geo-communication and civil society. Academic experts, professional politicians and NGO representatives will contribute to the high quality and depth of the debate. During intense workshop sessions, participants will debate divergent views on globalisation and future European responsibilities in the world. In each workshop, participants will put these views into a common context and draft a brief statement that will be incorporated in the general position paper of the Summit.
 
The World Youth Summit strives to go beyond the mere talk, debates and discussions targeting towards obtaining concrete, concise and sustainable results. A strategy paper outlining what ought to be the role of the European Community in light of this ongoing worldwide phenomenon reality of globalisation is to be the ultimate outcome of the World Youth Summit. The rich variety of participants will inevitably be reflected in the end - product in that the strategy paper will be an ensemble of visions and multiple strategies, which the young leaders of tomorrow and major stakeholders in the globalisation process view to be the ideal action to be taken by the European Community. 

The Summit has received the patronage of World Bank and College of Europe and the project team is now looking forward to get positive answers from the high-profile speakers that have been invited to the Summit.
