            Euroforum in Caucasus
Between 21.08 and 30.08 2006 has been held the first Euroforum in Caucasus where about sixty young people were brought together from 6 different countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Poland, Spain and Georgia. During the forum students from the three Caucasus states, along with young people from European countries, were able to discuss and share their ideas about civil society and the young generation, exchange experience, and plan further cooperation between youth organizations in the Caucasus and Europe.
Students from La Pech-students' organization for international solidarity, Nantes (France), AEGEE Tbilisi, Armenia 2020, AEGEE Baku, Solidarni, Warsaw, Oficina de Accion solidaria et Cooperation, UAM, Madrid participated. The initiator of the Euroforum Caucasus project was"La Pech" - a youth
The discussions and workshops were mainly focused on the role and commitment of young people in civil society, the European Union, environment, economy and other questions. The youth network will help young people in Europe and the Caucasus to stay in touch and realize different initiatives in the future, as well as adopt others' experiences for their countries.

            Bocconi Factory Summer Edition
The event "Bocconi Factory Summer Edition" took place between the 16th and the 23rd of July in Milan and involved AEGEE Milano, Università Commerciale "Luigi Bocconi", AEGEE Europe's partner, and ESN Milano. 60 participants attended the event which was mainly based on lectures about Economics, Finance and Management held by well-known Professors teaching in Università Bocconi and famous European Economists. This part of the programme took place between Monday and Thursday, while on Thursday afternoon the participants went for a guided city tour, and on Friday and Saturday they travelled to Como and Mantova where people from AEGEE Milano and ESN guided them through the beauties of the two cities. Beside lectures and trips, AEGEE Milano took care of the social and night life of participants and, obviously, organized the traditional European Night on Friday.

            Sea and the City
We are very proud to describe our event "Sea and the City" because it was a great success for both organizers and participants. We shared 5 incredible days living all together in a camping spending time on the beach and visiting the historic city of Comacchio, where we enjoyed a trip with a typical ancient boat, we experienced an excursion in the nature by bikes and we visited our beautiful middle age city, Ferrara, with a professional guide, moreover during the evening we discovered every corner of the city in a particular atmosphere : there was un international music festival and participants had the chance to appreciate this unique spectacle.
And of course - European night - endless party on the beach and on the disco made this event more than unforgettable!!!!!

            Get under the skin
The Summer University in Moldova took place from 20 July till 3 August, organized by AEGEE-Chisinau. Thirteen participants found their way to this moving country and took part in the program. Experts in the field of the media, politics, and culture held various lectures. Trips around the country included visits to the separatist state Transnistria, the famous monastery in Orhei, and the countryside of Bahmut. The SU also brought the participants to the south of Moldova; home to another AEGEE-antenna in Cahul. There, the international night took place, and the group was welcomed by the local mayor to join the 'Hora': a traditional round dance. A wine-tasting event in Chisinau was an essential part of the program, as Moldova is famous for its splendid wines all over the world. The two-week program was a perfect means to get 'under the skin' and experience the true Moldova. The presence of this international group of students was not left unnoticed, as they were broadcasted on Moldavian national television.

Hitchhike Contest "The 36 Hours 2006"
Hitch-hiking, is it a cheap but slow way of transport? Or more?
AEGEE-Enschede organised the weekend of 9 September a hitch-hike contest "The 36 Hours 2006". The contest, hitch-hike in 36 hours as far as possible from Enschede to a distant place and return within the time.
The aim, promote hitch-hiking as a safe, fast and joyful way to explore Europe and to meet new people along the road. The result, seven teams travelled a one way distance of 600 to 1000 km to places as far as Krakou, Göteborg and Jasseron! To travel more than 2000 km was quite an adventure, we had to spend a cold night in a schoolyard with another team in Katowice. We drove across Germany in an old yellow Trabant, the orange light on the roof was maybe because the maximum speed was 90 km/h! One team managed to travel for free across the sea to Göteborg and another visited six different countries. The first team travelled in 30 hours to Krakau and back, the last team arrived 48 hours after they left.
            Hitch-hiking is still possible!

Active Citizenship Summer Camp in Kune Lezhe
At nice place along the Adriatic Coast, 19 participants gathered from Italy, Moldavia, Romania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania to be trained by AEGEE-Shkoder.
During the training participants had the chance to talk regarding different issues of youth participation into governance, youth mobility, regional cooperation, the European Union etc.
Part of the summercamp was a follow up meeting organised by the Albanian Youth Council regarding the National Youth Plan of Action. This activity was a good moment for the participants to discuss practically the knowdleges they gained during the summercamp.

Due to the negative image Albania has in Europe as an unsafe country, travel agencies unfortunately advised our applicants not to visit Albania. But Italian participant Lucia Russo -travelling alone- experienced Albania as quite normal and safety is the same as in other countries, and saw no reason why she has not to come. She plans to attend the next event of AEGEE-Shkoder: an election observation mission for the local elections in spring 2007. For more information click here or write an email to us!
