Hello everyone,

I was enticed by Davide's original proposal of "Mediterranean-Slavic", but
I'd just say something related to Mediterranean: after all we are all
Mediterranean, or at least I feel very much like that, and I think that many
traits in the culture and way of life in several zones of, say, Eastern
Europe share the very same grounds as those you can find in, say, Southern
Italy. More generally, I personally support the idea that our history has
been shaped by geography much more than genetics, or any nationality/race
arguments, but this could be rather off-topic here. Anyway, Mediterranean
alone sounds maybe a bit too general; any ideas on this theme? :)

(Suggested reading, waiting for futher advice: "Mediterranean" by Predrag
Matvejevic, published in English by University of California Press, 1999; in
Italian by Garzanti, 2000; etc... you can find out! Nice reading.)

Emanuele
