Hi Aegee people! Did you know that exactly 400 years ago first time a man pointed a telescope to the sky and with this simple, apparently trivial, gesture all our knowledge was changed? This man was Galileo, professor in Padova University and one of the builders of Scientific Revolution. To celebrate this fact 2009 has been announced International Year of Astronomy.
You will have an explanation of historical and scientifical background and of current astrophysical perspective , will visit Galileo's expositions in historical center of our city, the tower from which he observed stars and a planetarium. We will try to depict you a good painting about this, but don't forget that we are Aegee! Further this you will have a lot of fun ! We are working on a surprise, an open-air sporty day in wilderness zone..and of course tour of Venice is included! So what are you waiting for, Aegee folks? Apply NOW! ;-) we want you! ;-)
start : Wed 3rd June, evening; end Sun 7th June, afternoon; application deadline 15th May 09 ; for visa applicants , please apply ASAP, anyway by 24th April 09.
Fee : 85 euros for EU , 70 euros for not-EU countries.
Contacts: [log in to unmask] or our board members if needed (www.aegeepadova.org).
