Hi Amedeo, hi all,

Amedeo, thank you for the useful information first of all - guys, if anyone finds any good connections or useful travel tips, please share them on the list! :)

In the meantime, I also wanted to remind you of some low-cost airlines that have cheap rates for internal flights within Italy, in order to reach Sicily - and that are useful also for our friends from the Balkans, through the flights being offered from Venice:

=> MyAir (www.myair.com): from Milan-Bergamo to Catania
=> WindJet (www.volawindjet.it): from Venice, Verona, Bologna-Forli', Milan-Linate, Rome-Fiumicino to Catania, and; from all these airports excluding Verona to Palermo
=> AlpiEagles (www.alpieagles.com): from Venice and Naples to both Catania and Palermo

Other airlines have slightly higher, but not unaffordable prices, such as:

=> Meridiana (www.meridiana.it)
=> Air One (www.flyairone.it)
=> Alitalia (www.alitalia.it) also have some regional offers on their website from time to time

These airlines also provide good connections for our friends from Sardinia.

Finally, here are the links to the other ferries mentioned by Amedeo:

=> Ma-Re-Si (www.ma-re-si.com): They run a weekly trip from Reggio Calabria to Valletta, as well as trips from Catania using a standard ferry - this Catania ferry would also be ideal for EBM participants since it arrives on Wednesday

=> Grimaldi Ferries (www.grimaldi-ferries.com): These run the ferry service between Salerno and Valletta

For further details regarding your travel arrangements, or regarding the EBM in general, kindly contact our Incoming Responsible Patricia Borg on [log in to unmask] We have also arranged for lodging for those people arriving earlier or staying later, for details kindly email.

Hope to see you soon! :)
Alistair

Dear Rainbow-mates,
I would like to add something to this email: since today there is
a new special offer by the Italian railways: 15 Euros for all the
Express, Intercity and Intercity-night trains, no matter on the
length of the way, but it has to be just one train and you have
to book at least the day before. There is just a fixed amount of
special tickets for each train. You can book by Internet. I have
already checked the way Udine-Pozzallo (where the ferry leaves)
and it's just 31 Euros, one way.
Finally, there are also boats leaving from Salerno and Reggio
Calabria, but not arriving on Thursday, the day of the beginning
of the EBM.

See you,

AME
