Hey guys,
How are you?
In case you missed the Hangout call, I will be giving you some brief
information on how to start your journey with Erasmus+
*What is Erasmus+?* Well, if you have the time and patience to go through
the *Magna Carta* <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta>*,* then you
have to download what is called the Programme Guide
<http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/documents/erasmus-plus-programme-guide_en.pdf>.
It's a very, very, long document (over 300 pages), which has all the
details about E+. I would suggest that you only go through pages 75 - 80,
because I am sure that most of you will only find them useful.
*But I am Italian, can I find something closer to home?* Yes! You have what
is termed as the National Agency
<http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/national-agencies/index_en.htm>
(NA), called l'Agenzia Nazionale Per I Giovani
<http://www.agenziagiovani.it/> in Italy, which should have everything
you're looking for. I would especially suggest that you go through their
events <http://www.agenziagiovani.it/eventi> list - they have info sessions
and training courses listed there.
*What if I want to expand my horizons?* Fret not my friends! There is what
is know as the SALTO-YOUTH - European Training Calendar
<https://www.salto-youth.net/tools/european-training-calendar/>. This has a
list of all training activities in on a European (or international) level,
which are not-for-profit and directed to youth workers wishing to develop
their competences to further work with and for young people, to share
experiences and, on occasion, to make contacts for common future projects.
Find one which you like, see if you can apply, and contact your National
Agency (ANG) to check whether you are eligible. They will then guide you
accordingly.
*So where do I start from?* Well, firstly I would suggest that your
organisation (AEGEE-Bahamas for example) applies for what is called a
Partner Identification Code <http://in-service-training.eu/docs/PIC.doc>
(PIC). You may find a helpful presentation with more details here
<http://www.intertradeireland.com/media/Horizon2020PICguide.pdf>. This will
enable you to organise and join projects Europe wide.
*And then?* Then you can join projects and travel for (almost) free, meet
loads of people, learn and have fun. And when you're back, don't forget to
organise more projects and teach people around you :)
For further questions, do not hesitate to contact me!
Regards,
*Luke Pace* AMIMechE
