On the 2th-6th November the European Students' Forum AEGEE held its biannual General Assembly (AGORA) in Napoli. More than 900 delegates gathered to discuss the future of AEGEE activities as well as AEGEE policies and statements.

For four days AEGEE members participated in 30 workshops and several plenary meetings. Delegates came to Italy from all parts of Europe, from over 231 academic centers. Subject of discussion centered around the 2007 AEGEE Flagship Project "Education Unlimited! - Improving European Education" which aims to Increase the involvement and engagement of young people in the European and national education policies and its implementation. At the same time the last activities for the current AEGEE Flagship Project, "Take Control, Ways to Democracy in Europe" have been presented: the launch of the European Citizens Initiative (ECI), of which AEGEE is a founding member, and the simulation "Model European Union", organised by AEGEE-Strasbourg, 5-10 March in European Parliament. Delegates voted upon project proposals and elected their European representatives: members of commissions, working group boards and the European Board of Directors (Comité Directeur).

The new European Board of Directors is as follows:
Mr Theijs van Welij - President
Mr Gergo Szigeti - Secretary General
Mr Michele Turati- Financial Director
Ms Anna Gabriel - Vice-President / Human Resources Director

The Agora of AEGEE-Europe is a twice-annual assembly, focused on long-term planning and drawing up a strategy for the development of the Association. The outcomes of our policies and projects are aimed at influencing the decision-making processes and making a difference in our main fields of action - peace and stability, cultural exchange, higher education and active citizenship.

The next General Assembly will take place in Valletta, Malta, at the end of April 2007.

AEGEE is one of Europe's largest interdisciplinary and voluntary student associations, operating without being linked to any political party, promoting a unified Europe, cross-border co-operation, communication and integration in the academic environment, and at the same time striving to create an open and tolerant society by involving students and young graduates in valuable projects and discussions over the topics of importance for the communities they live in. It is represented in 231 university cities, in 41 countries all around Europe and has around 15000 members.
